Top 5 From the Los Altos Police Log: Weekend of September 2-5

A major injury accident, as well as a trio of petty theft reports top the Labor Day Weekend log.

The following information was supplied by the Los Altos Police Department and reflect how incidents were initially reported. Wherever arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not mean a conviction. A fuller report will follow on Saturday.

1. Petty Theft Reports

- Petty Theft from a Vehicle: 11:18 a.m., Monday, September 5; 500 block of Covington Road;information only, vehicle and victim not on scene for report.

- Petty Theft of a Bike: 5:55 p.m., Monday, September 5; 200 block of Delphi Circle; no report desired.

- Petty Theft of Skateboard: 9:03 a.m., Saturday, September 3; 300 block of Alicia Way;

2. Accidents

- Major Injury Accident: 6:00 p.m., Monday, September 5; Foothill Expressway and Arastradero Road; bicycle on bicyle, referred to Palo Alto Police Department.

- Non-Injury Accident: 3:21 p.m., Monday, September 5; 300 block of Fremont Avenue; property damage only, report taken.

3. Missing Juvenile Report: 3:56 p.m., Friday, September 5; 200 block of Covington Road; officers responded, juvenile was located.

4. Traffic Violations

- DUI Arrest: 1:43 a.m, Monday, September 5; San Antonio Road and California Street; driver arrested, vehicle towed.

- Driving on Suspended License: 8:11 a.m., Saturday, September 5; Cuesta Drive and Springer Road; driver issued a misdemeanor citation. 

- Reckless Driver, Officers Advised to Be on Lookout: 6:57 p.m., Friday, September 2; S. El Monte Avenue and Foothill Expressway.

5. The Rest

- Disturbance: 1:55 p.m., Friday, September 2; 600 block of Los Altos Rancho; officer assisted.

- Disturbance: 3:24 p.m., Friday, September 2; 1100 block of Convington Road; officer assisted.

- Gas Leaf Blower Violation Report: 8:45 a.m, Saturday, September 3; Scott Lane and St. Joseph Avenue.

- Gas Leaf Blower Violation Report: 1:18 p.m.,  Friday, September 2; 400 block of Gabilan Street; officer responded, unable to locate.
