Top 5 From the Los Altos Police Log: Weekend of July 22-24

A grand theft report, a burglary attempt and a string of loud, barking dogs.

Over the weekend, there was a report of a grand theft and an arrest on a misdemeanor warrant. In between, there were just a two traffic accidents, a vicious animal that injured another, and a few of leaf blower complaints.

The information supplied comes from the Los Altos Police incident log; arrests or charges do not indicate convictions. A fuller report will be supplied on Saturday.

1. Theft

- Grand theft: 8:06 a.m., July 22, 2300 block of Friars Lane; report taken.

- Burglary attempt: 11:59 a.m., July 24, 700 block of El Monte Avenue; attempted commercial burglary, report taken

- Petty theft from a vehicle: 3:19 p.m., July 24, 700 block of Los Ninos Way; no report desired by reporting party, information only


2. Traffic and Accidents

- Possible rolling drunk driver: 3:26 p.m., July 24, 200 block of Magdalena Ave.; referred to Highway Patrol

- Hit-and-run accident, no injuries: 9:00 a.m., July 24, 500 block of Los Altos Avenue; property damage only, information only at this time. 


3. Gas Leaf Blower Violations

- 1:01 p.m., July 22, 00 block of Pepper Dr; officer responded, no blower was in use.

- 2:28 p.m., July 22, 100 block of S. Gordon Way; citation given.

- 3:48 p.m., July 22, 100 block of W. Portola Ave; officer responded, no violation, no report taken.


4. Animals

- Vicious animal, 1:21 p.m., July 24, 1400 block of Brookmill Road; injury to other animal, report taken.

- Noisy animal, barking dog complaints
       
          - 8:19 p.m., July 23, 600 block of Camellia Way
          - 9:11 p.m., July 23, 200 block of Alicia Way
          - 9:15 p.m., July 23, 600 block of Coral Court


5. Arrest made

- Misdemeanor warrant arrest: 9:08 p.m., July 24, Fremont Avenue and Grant Road.
