Top 5 From the Los Altos Police Log: Two Grand Thefts on Wednesday, Sept. 14

There was also a vehicle burglary and an attempted burglary are among the top items from the Los Altos Police incident log.

The following information was supplied by the Los Altos Police Department. Reports are usually for the 24-hour period prior to the date of publication. Wherever arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. A fuller report will follow on Saturday.

1. Reckless Driver Report: 1:10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14; 300 block of First Street; Officer checked the area and was unable to locate.

2. Non-Injury Accident: 5:39 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14; Cherry Avenue and Sylvian Way; property damage only, officer assisted involved parties with names exchanged.

3. Burglary: 

 - 6:47 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14; 600 block of Campbell Avenue; vehicle burglary, report taken by officer.

- 10:37 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14; 800 block of Carnation Court; attempted vehicle burglary, report taken by officer.

4. Thefts:

 - 7:46 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14; 2200 block of Homestead Court; grand theft report taken by officer.

- 12:18 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 15; 500 block of Tyndall Street; grand theft report taken by officer.

5. Suspicious Circumstances:

 - 8:39 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14; 200 block of Francis Drive; report of a suspicious subject in the area and officer unable to locate, subject gone on arrival.

- 9:46 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14; 800 block of Santa Rita Avenue; report of a vehicle being towed at an unusual hour, police responded and only information was taken.
