Top 5 from the Los Altos Police Log Oct. 21-23: Arson, Burglary, Eggs

A bike was set on fire, a camera stolen, and eggs thrown at a resident's property, not to mention vandalism and a hit-and-run.

The following information was supplied by the Captain Andy Galea from the Los Altos Police Department. Wherever arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. A fuller report will follow on Saturday.

Arson

Oct. 22, 2:56 p.m., ; a mother found her son's bicycle, which was left at a bike rack at the school, burned. The police department is working with the Santa Clara County Fire Department to investigate the crime.

Residential burglary

11:08 a.m., Oct. 21, 200 block of Jardin Drive; resident returned home and found someone walking away from his home. Victim entered house and saw it had been burglarized. A camera and camera case were taken. Other missing items are being determined.

Vandalism

Oct. 22, 3:49 p.m., 600 block of Spargur Drive; resident found three of the tires on her rental car slashed overnight.

Hit-and-Run

Oct. 23, 3:10 p.m, S. El Monte Ave and Cuesta Drive; victim said a dark blue or black SUV struck her vehicle and kept going. No injuries.

Egged

Oct. 23, 4:42 p.m., 1100 block of Lisa Lane; a resident called to say that the resident's house and cars had been egged overnight. They wanted to alert the police but did not file a report.
