Top 5 from the Los Altos Police Log: Nov. 9, Chain-Reaction Collisions

Five non-injury accidents topped the blotter.

The following is provided by the Los Altos Police Department. A full report will follow on the weekend.

Accidents

The latter two accidents on Foothill Expressway happened in a chain reaction fashion, occurring when officers were clearing the initial collision. Such collisions are not uncommon on Foothill Expressway, although they occur most frequently between El Monte and San Antonio roads, said Sgt. John Korges.

8:41 a.m., Foothill Expressway and Magdalena Avenue; no injuries, officers assisted with name exchange.

9:01 a.m., 2310 Homestead Road; ocurred in Trader Joe's parking lot, no injuries, officer assisted with name exchange.

9:15 a.m., Foothill Expressway and Magdalena Avenue; no injuries, officers assisted with name exchange.

1:41 p.m., 2310 Homestead Road; hit and run at Trader Joe's parking lot, officer assisted.
