Top 5 From the Los Altos Police Log: Dec. 16-18

Irksome solicitors, a petty theft, a trip and fall, malicious mischief and an off leash dog were some of the cases pursued by officers over the weekend.

The following is provided by the Los Altos Police Department. Mapped incidents reflect block number only to protect the privacy of residents. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate convictions. 

Solicitors

There were five complaints of annoying solicitors on Friday, Dec. 16, between 2:45 and 8:40 p.m. Calls came from the 600 block of South Springer Road, the 600 block of Arboleda Drive, the 60 block of Chester Circle, the 1000 block of Golden Way, and the 1000 block of Dartmouth Lane. In two cases officers made contact with the solititors, but there were no warnings or arrests noted. Otherwise officers were unable to locate the solicitors by the time they arrived on the scene.

Petty Theft

Officers made a citation arrest at a business in the 100 block of First Street, after a petty theft was reported on Friday, Dec. 16, just after 9 p.m.

Trip and Fall

Someone tripped and fell in the 100 block of East Edith Avenue on Sunday, Dec. 18, just before 3:30 p.m. Officers took a public accident report.

Malicious Mischief

A report of malicious mischief was taken by officers in the 400 block of University Avenue, on Friday, De.c 16 at 9:35 a.m.

Off Leash Dog

A call came in about an off leash dog in the 400 block of Rosita Avenue on Saturday, Dec. 17. Officers gave a warning to the owner.
