Top 5 From the Los Altos Police Log: Construction Noise and Accidents

Between July 15-17, two alcohol-related arrests were made, and a third person was issued a citation for driving on a suspended license.

What is it about weekends? On Saturday and Sunday, construction noise complaints and accidents were prevalent. And, of course, there were some alcohol-related arrests.

1.Construction Noise Complaints

- 8:48 a.m. Saturday, 200 block of Fremont Avenue; construction causing noise disturbance outside of permitted hours, warning given.

- 3:53 p.m. Saturday, 1400 block of Ranchita Drive; construction causing noise disturbance outside of permitted hours, warning given.

- 5:20 p.m Saturday, 100 block of W. Portola Avenue; construction causing noise disturbance outside of permitted hours, warning given.

- 10:35 a.m. Sunday, 2100 block of Crist Drive; construction causing noise disturbance, officer contacted, no noise violation found.

2. Driving on a suspended license

- 1:03 a.m. Sunday, El Camino Real and Rengstorff Avenue; misdemeanor citation.

3. Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol

- 2:40 am. Sunday, Foothill Expressway and Edith Avenue; DUI arrest.

4. Accidents

- 11:16 a.m., Sunday, Fremont Avenue and Avenue A; hit and run, property damage only, report taken.

- 1:22 p.m. Sunday; Foothill Expressway and Main Street; traffic collision, unknown if injuries involved, officers checked the area and were unable to locate involved vehicles.

- 6:49 p.m. Sunday, Foothill Expressway and Arboretum Drive; hit-and-run, officers on the lookout.

5. Drunk in public  

- 9:21 p.m. Sunday, South San Antonio Road and Third Street; subject arrested for being drunk in public.
