Top 5 From the Los Altos Police Log, April 24: 911 Hang-up-alooza

Suspicious persons, barking dogs and a parking complaint round out Tuesday.

 

The following are reports from the Los Altos Police log. All incidents listed are initial reports. A fuller report will come on the weekend wrap-up. When there are arrests mentioned in our daily logs, it does not mean there was a conviction.

Gosh, there were a slew of abandoned 911 calls.

1. Abandoned bicycle

  • 8:50 a.m., 1100 block of St. Joseph Avenue, abandoned bicycle, found bicycle, report taken  

2. 911 Hang-ups

  • 9:06 a.m., 2500 block of El Camino Real, MV; on call back, contact was made, and determined to be accidental
  • 9:49 a.m., 3600 block of Grant Road, hang up from cell phone, a misdial
  • 11:01, 2500 block of El Camino Real, MV, cellular 911 hangup, unable to establish contact on call back 
  • 11:01 a.m., 400 block of Lassen Street, parking violation report, report of vehicles blocking alley way, officer responded and made contact and the vehicles were going to be moved.
  • 2:34 p.m., 100 block of Los Altos Avenue, cellular hang-up, unable to establish contact on call back. 
  • 3:29 p.m., 4400 block of El Camino Real, officer responded and determined it to be accidental. 
  • 3:43 p.m., 1800 block of Miramonte Avenue, MV, 911 hang-up, unsubcribed cellular hang-up, unable to call back.  
  • 5:27 p.m., 2500 El Camino Real, 911 hang-up, on call back determined to be accidental
  • 5:55 p.m., 2500 El Camino Real, 911 hangup, contact made and user error. 
  • 8:30 p.m, 200 block of Almond Avenue, 911 all abandoned, on call back determined to be accidental
  • 9:45 p.m., 2500 block of El Camino Real, 911 open line, message left 

3. Noisy Animal

  • 9:56 a.m., 1800 Colleen Drive, barking dog, officer responded and had contact with dog owner, who was advised of municipal code
  • 9:30 p.m., 400 block of Rosita Avenue, noisy animal, barking dog complaint, officer responded 

4. Suspicious Person

  • 2:35 p.m., 5050 El Camino Real, homeless male throwing garbage around the back parking lot, officers responded and were unable to locate subject 
  • 3:34 p.m., Ben Roe and Newcastle Drive, suspicious circumstances, officer responded and was unable to locate anything suspicious or criminal
  • 5:25 p.m., 5050 El Cacmino Real, homeless male camping on property; officers responded and subject was moved off the property
  • 9:34 p.m., Christina Drive & Evemarie Avenue, suspicious vehicle, officers responded, information only 
  • 10:14 p.m., Foothill Expressway & Grant Road, suspicious subject, officer responded, information only 

5. Parking Violation Complaint

  • 11:01 a.m., 400 block of Lassen Avenue, report of vehicles blocking the alleyway, officer responded, and made contact and vehicles were going to be moved
