Top 5 From the Los Altos Police Log: A Pilfered Espresso Machine & a Stolen Truck, Aug. 26-28

Hardly the quiet weekend in Los Altos, as four different theft reports made the blotter... Just another extra reason to watch your things carefully

Watch what you leave on the porch, guard against auto theft, and hang onto your equipment, contractors!

- Grand Theft:  10:22 a.m., Friday, August 26; 400 block of Pine Lane; resident reported that a package containing an espresso machine valued at $1,300 was removed from the front porch of the residence. No suspect information.

- Residential Burglary Report: 10:44 a.m., Friday, August 26; 1500 block of Landell Court. Victim reported that on August 25, a painter working at the property confronted two subjects attempting to remove his paint sprayer from the garage.  The subjects dropped the property and fled on foot. No arrests. Officers are following up on the description provided by the painter. No vehicle seen.

- Auto Burglary Report: 7:26 p.m., Friday, August 26; 2200 block of Homestead Court; victim reported that between the evening of August 25 and the morning of August 26 some unknown suspect(s) entered his vehicle by smashing the window and removing several collectable coins valued at $700. No suspect information or leads available.  

- Burglary Report, Referred to Mountain View Police: 9:54 a.m., Saturday, August 27; 500 block of Del Medio Avenue.

- Stolen Vehicle Report: 7:47 p.m., Saturday, August 27; 2300 block of Homestead Road. A 1999 green Toyota Tacoma was stolen out of the parking lot overnight. No suspect information. Vehicle has not been located. 

2. Accidents and Traffic

- Non-Injury Accident: 7:18 p.m., Friday, August 26; El Camino Real and San Antonio Road; report taken. 

- Driving on Suspended License: 11:18 a.m., Saturday, August 27; Miramonte and Clinton; driver cited to appear and released. 

- Non-Injury Accident: 5:51 p.m., Saturday, August 27; Mercedes and Pasa Robles avenues; motorhome slid into power pole. 

3. Disturbances 

- Juvenile Disturbance: 2:07 p.m., Friday, August 26; 600 block of Fremont Avenue; officer assisted. 

- Disturbance, Verbal Argument: 3:46 p.m., Sunday, August 28; 1400 block of Ben Roe Drive; officers contacted involved parties, no crime occurred, no further action needed.

- 8:30 p.m., Sunday, August 28; 600 block of Distel Drive; officer assisted. 

4. Noise Complaints 

- 10:21 p.m., Saturday, August 27; 100 block of University Avenue; loud party complaint, music turned down.

- 10:23 p.m., Saturday, August 27; 1400 block of McKenzie Avenue; loud party complaint, contact made, music turned down.

- Report of Suspicious Subject: 6:04 p.m., Friday, August 26; 200 block of N. Avalon; police made contact, information only. 

- Vicious Dog Report: 8:48 p.m., Sunday, August 28; 300 block of Hacienda Court; officer assisted. 

- Be on the Lookout Broadcast: 6:39 p.m., Friday, August 26; Main Street and Second Street. 

- Annoying Emails: 1:49 p.m., Friday, August 26; 100 block of W. Edith Avenue; report taken.
