This Week from the Los Altos Police Log: A Relatively Quiet Time, July 22-28

A case of grand theft, five non-injury accidents, an incident of very petty theft are among the events reported by Los Altos Police.

A case of grand theft, a case of very petty theft, six barking dogs and five non-injury accidents were reported this week in Los Altos for the period of July 22 through July 28.

An HP laptop computer and an iPod were taken from a home on Friars Lane last Sunday in the week's only case of grand theft. Sgt. John Korges said the theft was reported Monday after the daughter had an authorized party in the family home.

There was only one case of a smash-and-grab auto burglary reported during the period when a duffel bag brief case was taken from a car parked on Central Plaza and State Street on Tuesday, Korges said.

A case of very petty theft was reported Tuesday when someone took a Rockstar energy drink from a location in town. It turned out to be a costly drink, since the suspect received a ticket for the effort, Korges said.

On the same day, a citation arrest was made on an outstanding warrant for a trespassing violation.

There was also a series of barking dog complaints last Saturday night within an hour of each other on Camelia Way, Alicia Way and Coral Court.

There were three more barking dog complaints Thursday night on S. Springer Road, N. Antonio Drive and Colleen Drive.

Five non-injury automobile accidents occurred during the period. A non-injury accident occurred last Saturday on S. San Antonio Road and Lyell Street.

Two accidents were reported last Sunday; one on Los Altos Avenue at 9 a.m. and another on Foothill Expressway and Edith Avenue.

A fourth accident occurred Tuesday at 9 a.m. on Foothill Expressway and Magdalena Avenue and a fifth Thursday at 12:11 p.m. on First Street and Edith Aveue.
