A Sunnyvale man has been arrested on suspicion of molesting four children between 1999 and 2005, according to the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.

Sunnyvale police arrested Michael Alexander Anthony, 28, on Feb. 11, for allegedly sexually assaulting four minors near his home on Brahms Way, Jeff Hunter said.

"Investigators believe there are potentially several other victims from the same time period and that the sexual assaults took place possibly near the suspect’s Sunnyvale residence on Brahms Way and in the area of El Camino Real and Cezanne Drive," Hunter said.

Anthony was also arrested on suspicion of possessing child pornography after San Jose police assisted in locating images on computers owned by the suspect, Hunter said.

The sexual assaults near Anthony's home allegedly began in 1999 while he was a teenager, according to Hunter.

"He was a minor in some of the incidents," Hunter said.

The children who were allegedly molested ranged in age from 3 to 8 at the time, Hunter said.

The investigation started recently when one of Anthony's alleged victims contacted police and later helped lead detectives to three other victims, Hunter said.

Sunnyvale police are asking that anyone with information about the case call Detective Michael Mendoza at (408) 730-7130.
