Second Caltrain Pedestrian Death Wednesday

The earlier death happened in Belmont.



A Caltrain struck and killed a person on the tracks at the South San Francisco station Wednesday night, Caltrain officials said. 

The train was empty and being moved south to be used in the morning commute and struck the person at about 8:50 p.m. 

It is the second Caltrain fatality Wednesday. A man was struck and killed just north of the San Carlos border in Belmont at 12:55 p.m.
