Santa Clara County is assembling five strike team engines and two battalion chiefs to be sent to fight the Mt. Diablo fire in Contra Costa County.
The wildfire ignited Sunday afternoon and quickly blew-up, threatening homes and forcing evacuations.
A total of 22 personnel will be sent from here.
They’ll head north as soon as enough personnel can be assembled.
All local stations, including those protecting Los Altos, will be fully staffed.
As of 3 p.m. Monday, the fire had burned 3,700 acres and was 20 percent contained.
