Most neighborhoods have them—vehicles that are parked for weeks or months and you have no idea who owns them. Leaves gather beneath them and a layer of dust forms.
You don’t have to put up with the eyesores. According to Los Altos Police Sgt. Cameron Shearer, here’s how to get rid of them:
- Gather details about the vehicle such as make, model, license plate and the exact address where it’s parked
- Phone the main number of the police department, 650-947-2770, to report it
The police department will send someone over to tag the vehicle. If it’s not moved within 72 hours it will be towed.
