Police Log: Search for Prowler Turns up Nothing

Selected highlights from the Jan. 21-23 Los Altos Police logs include a suspicious person, panic alarm, and traffic accidents.

The following information was provided by the Los Altos Police Department.

  • Bank alarm: 9:20 a.m., Jan. 21, 0-100 block of S. San Antonio Road; determined to be user error.
  • Abandoned vehicle:   12:09 p.m., Jan. 21, 4300 block of Eleanor Ave.; vehicle tagged.
  • Commercial alarm: 12:07 p.m., Jan. 21, 900 block of S. San Antonio Road; determined to be a malfunction.
  • Abandoned vehicle: 4:53 p.m., Jan. 21, 1000 block of Mercedes Ave.; vehicle tagged.
  • Residential burglary: 4:59 p.m., Jan. 21, 200 block of N. Clark Ave.; report taken.
  • Prowler: 10:46 p.m. Jan. 21, 700 block of Rose Lane; police responded to a report of a possible prowler, arriving officers checked the premise and no signs of a prowler.
  • Suspicious vehicle: 7:38 a.m., Jan. 22, 1700 block of Fremont Ave.; police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area. The vehicle was gone when officers arrived.
  • Suspicious person: 8:59 a.m., Jan. 22, S. El Monte Avenue and Covington Road; police responded to a report of a suspicious person in the area. Arriving officers were unable to locate the person.
  • Suspended license: 9:21 a.m., Jan. 22, Fremont Avenue and Covington Road, police issued a misdemeanor citation to a motorist driving with a suspended license.
  • Residential alarm: 1:23 p.m., Jan. 22, 600 block of Mills Ave.; determined to be a malfunction.
  • Traffic accident: 4:41 p.m., Jan. 22, Foothill Expressway and St. Joseph Ave.; police assisted parties with name exchanges after a non-injury traffic accident.
  • Traffic accident: 3:26 p.m., Jan. 23, Miramonte and Fremont avenues; police assisted parties with name exchanges after a non-injury traffic accident.
  • Panic alarm: 3:09 p.m., Jan. 23, 0-100 block of Higgins Ave.; officer responded to a report of a residential panic alarm going off. Determined to be user error.
