Police Calls: Traffic Collisions, More Illegal Dumping

On Oct. 22, Los Altos Police officers were busy tending to traffic collisions, mediating disturbances, handling vandalism and suspicious subject calls. And they had to call Municipal Services for the third day in a row to take care of bags of CO2 cartridges dumped in one of two south Los Altos neighborhoods.

Disturbance

• 6:00 a.m., 2310 Homestead Road (Foothill Crossing Shopping Center); disturbing the peace, subject causing disturbance gone on officer’s arrival
• 6:52 p.m., 300 block of Main Street; disturbance, officers responded and mediated, no crime

Traffic Collision

• 8:01 a.m., El Monte Avenue & Spargur Drive; accident, no injuries, property damage only, report taken
• 11:26 a.m., Foothill Expressway & Homestead Road; accident, no injuries, solo vehicle collision, property damage only
• 12:57 p.m., 110 Los Altos Avenue; accident, minor injuries, report taken
• 2:12 p.m., 2310 Homestead Road (Foothill Crossing); accident, no injuries, property damage only, officer assisted parties with names exchange

Illegal Dumping

• 10:00 a.m., Stonehaven Drive and Lockhaven Drive; illegal dumping (two bags of CO2 cartridges left on side of the roadway), referred to Municipal Services for clean-up

Driving on a Suspended License

• 11:46 a.m., Page Mill Road and I-280, Palo Alto; driving with a suspended license, driver cited to appear and released

Suspicious Vehicle/Circumstances

• 2:28 p.m., 500 block of Distel Drive; suspicious occupied vehicle, officer contacted driver and determined no crime, subject had valid reason for being in the area
• 7:07 p.m. 1000 block of Rosemont Avenue; suspicious circumstances, officers determined no crime , no report

Reckless Driver

• 4:01 p.m., walk in, Yerba Santa Avenue and Los Altos Avenue; report of reckless driver, officer contacted driver, no crime, information only

Malicious Mischief

• 5:12 p.m., 616 Hollingsworth Drive; vandalism, cold report, report taken
