Police Calls: Signage Issues, Fender Benders

The Los Altos Police department had a busy Oct. 15, with minor traffic collisions, counseling individuals on sign display, and chasing after dogs.

 

Oct. 15 saw six traffic collisions, two animal calls, two disturbances, and two tows from the Foothill Crossign shopping center.  

 

Collision

  • 8:57 a.m., 700 block of Los Altos Avenue; accident, no injuries, private property collision, property damage only, assisted parties involved with names exchange
  • 2:03 p.m., walk-in, S. El Monte Avenue and Foothills Expressway; hit and run accident, property only, no report requested, information only
  • 3:40 p.m., Almond Avenue ad San Antonio Road, San Antonio Road, traffic collision with minor injuries, report was taken
  • 4:24 p.m., S. El Monte Ave., Collision, property damage only, officer assisted with name exchange
  • 5:24 p.m., 200 block of S. El Monte Avenue Foothill Expressway exchange; traffic collision,  property damage only, cancelled by reporting party prior to officer’s arrival
  • 5:36 p.m., Foothill Expressway and Grant Road; accident no injuries, property damage only

Reckless Driver

  • 9:03 a.m., N. San Antonio Road and W. Portola Avenue; reckless driver, information relayed to Mountain View Police, information only

Animal Call

  • 9:36 a.m., Orange Avenue and Lincoln Avenue; stray dog, information only, officer unable to catch dog
  • 3:14 p.m., 550 Almond Ave, stray dog, dog returned to owner

Disturbance

  • 9:45 a.m., 4400 block of El Camino Real; disturbing the peace, subject contacted, no crime, information only at this time
  • 2:37 p.m., 1 N. San Antonio Road; disturbing the peace, involved parties contacted no crime, quiet on departure

Be On the Lookout

  • 11:09 a.m., S El Monte Avenue and Foothill Expressway; Be on the lookout request from Santa Clara County Sheriffs, reference reckless driver, information relayed to patrol

Theft

  • 12:00 p.m., 1530 block of Oakhurst Avenue; petty theft, cold report, information only, no report

Municipal Code, General

  • 12:49 p.m., N. San Antonio Road and Almond Avenue; municipal code violation, improper signage, information only at this time
  • 1:04 p.m., 00 block of Dior Terrace; municipal code violation, improper signage, problem corrected by resident
  • 1:48 p.m., 500 block of S. Springer Road, municipal code violation, signage issue, compliance achieved
  • 1:57 p.m., 400 block of Springer Road, municipal code violation, signage issue, compliance achieved
  • 2:05 p.m., 100 block of Covington Road, , municipal code violation, signage issue, compliance achieved

Illegal Dumping

  • 1:49 p.m., Lockhaven Drive and Stonehaven Drive; illegal dumping, referred to municipal services for clean-up

  • 2:11 p.m., 2310 Homestead Road, general tow, private property tow
