Police Calls: Strawberry Stand Without a Permit

The Los Altos Police log for April 15 also included a gun brought in for disposal and a domestic disturbance in the wee hours of the morning. Plus, a burglary on April 16 took place while the resident was out for less than an hour.

 

April 16

Burglary

1:30 p.m., 100 block of South Avalon Drive; burglary; Los Altos Police Agent Neal Randles said that jewelry of unknown value was taken. Entry was gained by kicking in the side laundryroom door, while the resident was gone between 11:50 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., a very small window of time, but the resident called an hour later.

Identity Theft

  • 8:26 a.m., walk-in, 500 block of Lassen Street, identity theft, unfounded

Suspicious Person / Vehicle

  • 10:53 a.m., 275 Third Street, Comerica Bank; suspicious person, police responded and subject was gone on arrival
  • 11:21 a.m., 1500 block of Wisteria Court; suspicious vehicle, officers responded and vehicle was gone on arrival

Muni Code, General

  • 2:12 p.m., Cuesta Drive and Springer Road, M.V.; report of subject selling strawberries, subject was contacted and is leaving area

Traffic Collision

  • 3:24 p.m., Second Street and Main Street; non-injury accident, no report taken

Gun Destruction

  • 3:51 p.m., 300 block of Edna Court; gun disposal

Tree Down

  • 4:11 p.m., Los Altos Avenue and Margarita Court; tree down, public works notified and will remove Tuesday, not a hazard
  • 5:45 p.m., 700 block of Dixon Way; tree down, referred to public works

Noise

  • 6:05 p.m., 400 block of Cypress Drive; construction noise complaint, unfounded
  • 9:31 p.m., 911, 400 block of University Avenue; noise complaint, information

DUI

  • 9:35 p.m., walk-in, San Antonio Road and El Camino Real; possible drunken driver, unable to locate

Disturbance

3:10 a.m., 911, 1900 block of Alford Avenue; Disturbance in progress, incident report taken
