Police Calls: Gas Leaf Blower Shatters Neighborhood Quiet

Selected highlights from the Jan. 3-4 Los Altos Police logs include a report of a reckless driver, and a suspicious person.

 

Jan. 3

Reckless driver

  • 10:54 a.m., 2300 block of Homestead Road; report of a reckless driver, officer responded and the call was referred to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office which also responded.

Residential alarm

  • 9:17 a.m., 400 block of Raquel Lane; residential alarm, determined to be user error.
  • 12:37 p.m., 50 block of Oak St.; residential alarm, determined to be user error.
  • 1:13 p.m., 400 block of West Portola Ave.; residential alarm, determined to be user error.

Gas leaf blower violation

  • 1:43 p.m., 400 block of Juanita Way; police responded to a report of a gas-powered leaf blower in use. Responding officer contacted and reprimanded the subject.

Jan. 4

Suspicious person

  • 12:53 a.m., Foothill Expressway and Edith Avenue; police responded to a 9-1-1 call about a suspicious person. Arriving officers were unable to locate the person.
