Police Calls: Burglaries, Kids On Roof, Loud Parties

The Los Altos Police log Aug. 10-12, 2012 is full this week. There were six cars towed from Foothill Crossing, a fraud report, and two sewer back-ups, as well.

 

Los Altos Police were busy over the weekend, from the looks of the police log Aug. 10-12, 2012. A person reported money taken from her bank account and folks made lots of noise complaints.

Fraud cold report

  • 10:39 a.m., walk-in, 800 block of University Avenue, fraud, cold report, money taken from victim's bank account while hospitalized, report taken 

Suspicious Person

  • 12:12 p.m., 1800 block of Newcastle Drive, suspicious person, officer made contact 

Disturbance

  • 12:14 p.m., 359 State Street (the bike shop), disturbance, officers responded and assisted 

Burglary

  • 1:52 p.m., 100 block of Fremont Avenue, residential burglary, cold, report taken 

Gas Leaf Blower

  • 3:08 p.m, 1500 block of Kathy Ln, gas leaf blower violation, officer responded and advised 

Open Door

  • 10:05 p.m., 1900 block of Deodara Drive, open door, police responded and rendered assistance

Aug. 11

DUI

  • 1:56 a.m., Oakhurst Ave & Portland Ave., driving under the influence, arrest 

Noisy Animal

  • 7:41 a.m., 1000 block of Rosemont Ave, barking dog causing noise, police responded, quiet on arrival and departure

Possible Drunk Driver

  • 9:11 a.m., Sherwood Avenue and San Antonio Road, possible drunk driver, officer checked area and was unable to locate 

Sewer Backup

  • 8:47 a.m., 1500 block of Redwood Dr., referred to municipal services
  • 11:53 a.m., 500 block of Valley View Dr., sewer backup, referred to municipal services

Driving on a Suspended License

  • 10:47 a.m., Foothill Expressway & Main Street, driving with a suspended license, driver cited to appear and released

General Tow

  • 11:22 a.m., 2310 Homestead Road (Foothill Crossing shopping center), private property tow
  • 2:21 p.m., 2310 Homestead Road, private property tow
  • 2:49 p.m., 2310 Homestead Road, private property tow

Stolen Vehicle

  • 1:59 p.m., 1900 block of Fallen Leaf Lane, stolen vehicle, reporting party later located the vehicle, unknown why it was believed stolen initially 

Juvenile Disturbance

  • 6:48 p.m., 550 Almond Avenue (Almond School), report of juveniles on the roof of the school, officer responded and was unable to locate; they were gone on arrival

Disturbance

  • 8:12 p.m., 100 W. Portola Dr. (Egan Jr. High School), officer responded and was unable to locate 

Noise Complaint

  • 8:37 p.m., 600 block of Covington Road, noise complaint, officers responded and advised homeowner
  • 10:45 p.m., 00 block of Hawthorne Avenue, noise complaint, officer responded and made contact, reprimanded and released
  • 11:00 p.m., 00 block of Coronado Avenue, loud party, officer responded, quiet on arrival and departure
  • 11:10 p.m., 00 block of Hawthorne Avenue, loud party, party was just breaking up, reprimand and release, no further problems 

Residential Burglary

  • 9:48 p.m., 1200 block of Richardson Avenue, residential burglary, just occurred, jewelry taken, entry was gained by smashing a rear glass door, report taken.
  • 10:55 p.m., 100 block of Yerba Santa Avenue, residential burglary, cold report, victim returned from vacation, found house burglarized, TV and electronics taken, entry gained by cutting out screen to bathroom window

Noise Disturbance

  • 8:21 a.m., 1300 block of Oakhurst Avenue, noise disturbance, forwarded to code enforcement for follow-up

General Tow

  • 11:44 a.m., 2310 Homestead Road (Foothill Crossing shopping center), private property tow
  • 12:07 p.m., 2310 Homestead Road, private property tow
  • 2:18 p.m., 2310 Homestead Road, private property tow

Be on the Lookout

  • 12:41 p.m., 1428 Miramonte Avenue, BOL request from MVPD, assistance given 

Muncipal Code Violation

  • 1:04 p.m., 1575 Holt Avenue, Grant Park, off-leash dogs, warning given

Traffic Collision

  • 1:28 p.m., Loucks Avenue & San Antonio Road, traffic accident, property damage only, officer assisted in names exchange

Noise Complaint

  • 2:09 p.m., 1800 block of Fallen Leaf Lane, noise disturbance, quiet on officer's arrival and departure

Suspicious Circumstances

  • 3:59 p.m., 900 block of Madonna Way, suspicious circumstances, information only
