Los Altos Police Blotter for April 8 - 14: DUI, Dog Bite and Burglaries

An arrest for DUI, a dog bite incident, burglaries and six minor and non-injury traffic accidents topped the list of incidents reported by police in this seven-day period.

A driving under the influence arrest, a dog bite incident, two burglaries and  six minor injury or non-injury traffic accident topped the Los Altos Police Department report for the seven day-period covered from April 8 through Apirl 14.

The DUI arrest occurred April 11 at 2:14 a.m. at the intersection of El Camino Real and Mountain View.  Los Altos Police Capt. Andy Galea identified the driver as Fernando Erosticoruiz, 34 of Mountain View. 
 
The dog bite incident occurred April 10 at 1:55 p.m.  at a location on State Street when an assistance dog bit an employee. Police said the victim did not request medical attention. However, Galea said a report was taken and the incident was referred to Animal Control for follow-up.

A landscaper reported that approximately $1,600 worth of gardening tools were removed from the rear of his vehicle while he was working on Edith Avenue early Thursday afternoon.  Galea said there is no suspect information at this time.

Another report of a break-in was reported at a commercial establishment on Grant Road April 13 at 5:54 p.m. Galea said the office was ransacked, but that nothing was reported missing at the time.

A car parked on N. San Antonio Road was burglarized April 12 at about 8:30 p.m. Galea said the suspect or suspects broke out the rear driver side window and took a laptop that was on the floor of the car. Another auto burglary was reported April 9 at 6:27 p.m. on Covington Road

On April 14, a woman reported that her wallet had been stolen while she was shopping at Whole Foods, at about 8 p.m. The victim, however, had no cash in her wallet, only credit cards and miscellaneous identification documents, Galea said.

Two reports of disturbances were filed April 8; one at Pine Lane and another on Giraldi Drive. Galea said the latter incident was a family dispute and no further action was taken. The Pine Lane disturbance occurred at Pilgrim Haven and occurred when one resident objected to another resident being moved by family members, police said.

In all, six traffic accidents were reported during the period.

A minor injury accident was reported April 8 at 6:14 p.m. at the intersection of Foothill Expressway and El Monte Avenue. A second non-injury accident was reported at the same location a few days later April 13 at 10:21 a.m.

A non-injury accident was reported at the intersection of Foothill Expressway and Interstate 280 April 14 at 8:06 a.m. 

Three non-injury accidents occurred April 11. The first was  at S. El Monte Avenue and Foothill Expressway at 7:48 a.m. A second non-injury accident occurred the same day in the early afternoon on Pine Lane. The third was on West Edith Avenue and University Avenue at 5 p.m.
