Through further investigation, it was determined that Lorigo was a registered sex offender and was seen by witnesses frequenting a Hebrew Day School in Sunnyvale, according to Los Gatos/Monte Sereno police Sgt. spokesman Clinton Tada.

Los Gatos/Monte Sereno police detectives contacted Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety and provided its officers with the information, which they followed up and obtained an arrest warrant for Lorigo.

The 43-year-old San Jose man was arrested Jan. 23 and booked into Santa Clara County Jail thanks to the tip from the LGMSPD, according to police officials, who added that Lorigo was identified by school employees after being captured on school video surveillance.

At the time of his arrest, Lorigo also in possession of an altered California Identification card.

Sunnyvale police detectives have filed charges against Lorigo with the District Attorney’s Office for false identification and unlawfully entering school grounds in violation of his registration requirements.

Sunnyvale police officials are asking for anyone who has been in recent contact with or has information about Lorigo to contact Sunnyvale Detective Joel Lockwood at 408-730-7134.
