Comerica Bank Robbed in Downtown Los Altos—Again

After a robbery of a downtown liquor store and two robberies of Comerica Bank in two months, police believe the same suspect is using downtown Los Altos like, well, his own li'l ATM.

The Comerica Bank was robbed Thursday by a hoodie-wearing bank robber, who pointed his weapon at a teller threatening manner before taking off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is believed to be the same man who robbed Comerica on March 6 and the Standard Liquor store on First Street on March 19.

"It's the same exact same thing," said Los Altos Police Sgt. Cameron Shearer. "He's a white male adult, in his 30s, wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt, black mask and blue jeans."

The man entered the bank Thursday about 11 a.m., holding a black handgun, Sgt. Shearer said. He demanded money from one of the tellers.

"She was too slow, and he pointed gun at her and told her to hurry up," Shearer added.

She gave him undisclosed amount of cash. He fled out of the west doors of the bank. The whole thing probably took about 30 seconds, he said.
