Blaze Displaces Mobile Home Resident in Mountain View

The cause of the early morning blaze is under investigation.

An early morning fire on Sunday forced a resident out of his unit at the Sahara Village mobile home community at 191 E. El Camino Real.

The two-alarm fire was reported at 4:56 a.m. The mobile home was fully engulfed in flames when Mountain View firefighters arrived. The unit’s sole resident had evacuated his unit and was safe, according to Mountain View Fire Department officials.

Firefighters quickly worked to put out the fire and prevent it from spreading to other units. There were no injuries.

The Mountain View Fire Department was assisted by the Santa Clara County Fire Department, Sunnyvale Fire Department, Palo Alto Fire Department, Mountain View Police Department, and the Santa Clara County Fire Associates.  The American Red Cross is providing support to the displaced resident.

A fire investigator is on scene and is working to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
