San Francisco Firm Wins Engineering Excellence Award

Sacramento, CA – Degenkolb Engineers of San Francisco has received an Honor Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of California (ACECCA) for their work on the Bing Concert Hall, Stanford University in Stanford, CA.

Degenkolb worked with prime consultant, Ennead Architects, and the talented design team to build a facility that serves as center of the arts community at Stanford and facilitates education through the “intersection of performance and teaching.” This 111,000 square foot venue features a 3,200 square-foot stage, 842 seats arranged in “vinyard-style” seating, 46 foot tall sails which function as video screens to create a 3D environment, and a wrap-around light filled lobby that doubles as an atrium. The building resembling a drum and encompassing it’s acoustic personality, allows for a world class, and yet intimate, performance space. The project team met the client’s expectations extremely well and the client was satisfied with the final result.

Degenkolb Engineers will be honored at the 2014 EEA Banquet held on February 3 in Sacramento.  Registration:  ACECCA 2014 EEA Banquet Event
