The California Academic Performance Index is a tool that the state uses in order to rate a school's performance on scale of 200 to 1,000. California's benchmark, or expected average is 800.
Los Altos School District placed at the top of the state again in the 2011 base report, and Cupertino was in the top echelon as well. Most of the schools raised their scores. How important are these scores to you? Do you base your decision on schools on this number? Or do you factor it in with other variables like school climate and teacher retention?
