Life's Epic Journey

Experience the trip of a lifetime by immersing yourself in unique destinations around the world.  Whether you dream of standing in the shadow of Sydney’s Opera House in Australia, swimming the crystalline waters of Tahiti, or sinking your toes into the sun-kissed shores of the Caribbean, Hawaii, or Mexico, pairing your holiday with a stay in luxurious accommodations elevates it to another level entirely.

I am going to give you a glimpse into your world of possibilities on some of life’s most epic journeys.

It’s a jolly good idea to plan your trip with a destination specialist who has been there, done that, and can save you time and money.  These are some of my favorites.

The Langham, Sydney, Australia

With the World’s Rotary Clubs holding their annual convention in Sydney this July, it is going to be a popular place.  It boasts over 340 days of sunshine each year, and it’s a cosmopolitan city which has sleek skyscrapers and lovely Victoria architecture.  Its home to some of the world’s most famous beaches located near the historic Rocks District.    I love the Langham.  It is a 96- room luxury retreat with a fantastic afternoon tea.   I’ve been to Australia close to 100 times, I can recommend highlights in every part of the land.

Grand Velas Riviera Maya, Mexico

At this property, your personal butler will deliver champagne to sip next to your private plunge pool on your very own oceanfront terrace.   Foodies will savor the eight on site restaurants while families will love the chance for their children to swim with dolphins.  A private guide can take you for a look at Chichen Itza, the stunning Mayan ruins, which have been called one of the new Seven Wonders of the World.

Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, Hawaii, Big Island

This property is very special to me.  I went there for my honeymoon and go back for our anniversary each year if we can.   A perfect eclipse of sand fronts this resort.  Built on a patch of black lava by Laurence Rockefeller in 1964, the hotel is decorated with 1600 pieces of Asian Oceanic art from his personal collection.  It has four wonderful on-site restaurants, but don’t miss the weekend clambake on the beach.  The Resort also has a challenging 18-hole championship golf course.   Although there is lots of local sightseeing,  I always just stay and enjoy the hotel, beach, and golf.

Intercontinental Bora Bora Resort and Thalasso Spa, Tahiti

Nestled on a coral island between the ocean and a turquoise lagoon, the 83 thatched bungalows built on stilts over the lagoon is an ideal spot for a honeymoon or anniversary, but you don’t need a special occasion to go there.   I am there for as little as one hour and Polynesian Paralyze sets in.   Give me a Mai Tai, and I am happy in a swimsuit or shorts.  You ca swim off your private deck with a rainbow of tropical fish, or sit and look at the marine life through the glass floor in your room.      The view is romantic; you can see Mount Otemanu, an extinct volcano covered in tropical trees and plants.   There are Gorgeous flowers everywhere.

Zoetry Agua Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

The crystalline Caribbean waters follow you at every turn at this stunning all suite resort.   The property is on the pristine north shore with manmade waterways snaking through its grounds,  opening up to an oceanfront infinity pool lined with towering palm trees.  Very spacious, open air, one or two bedroom suits are outfitted with teak furnishing, black slate showers and private decks.    Go visit a local sugar plantation and sail down the Chavon River.
