Leaving for Europe

A visit to Liverpool, Chester, Southport and Harrogate, all in the North of England, and each worth visiting. Home of the Beatles, medieval history, scenery, and good shopping.

I am busy getting ready to leave for a quick  trip to England.   For once, I am not speaking at a conference, or attending a meeting.    My old tennis partner has had a bout with cancer and needs cheering up so I am taking her along with me to see some old school friends.

My staff thought it would be nice for me to tell my readers where I am going and what they can expect an article on when I get back.

I will be visiting Liverpool in Lancashire, in the North West home of the Beatles and an old shipping port on the River Mersey, Chester, in the county of Cheshire, is a lovely old medieval city with a Roman wall.  This town has fantastic Tudor architecture with black and white buildings, and smashing shopping.  My weakness is shoes......

Also on the list is Southport, in Lancashire, a sea side town, home to the Southport Flower Show which is almost as good as the Chelsea Flower Show.

If I havent worn my friend down by then, we will go to Harrogate in Yorkshire which is another lovely old town with lots of history.

Looking forward to my Fish and Chips and a Shandy, a drink of half pale ale and lemonade.

Cheers!
