New Survey Shows U.S. Customs is driving visitors away.   The U.S. Travel Association released some early results on survey conducted in partnership with Consensus Research.

In the survey, 43 percent of the travelers who have visited the U.S. said they would discourage others from making the trip because of the sluggish entry process.  The survey also found that more than two out of five potential business travelers won’t come to the U.S. in the next five years for the same reason. Sixty-four percent of the responders said they were frustrated by long lines and wait times of several hours.  

U.K. Issues travel advisory for female travelers in India - Britain’s Foreign Office updated its travel advice today in the wake of the rape of a Swiss tourist on Saturday. Avoid traveling alone on public transport, or in taxis and rickshaws, especially at night. Use prepaid taxis at airports, or get them from a hotel taxi stand.

United adds lie-flat seats in its Premium service flying between the East and West coasts.
