Annie's Update: Pouring Concrete, Grading, New Sewer Line This Week

Last week's ruptured gas line is a mere memory; work continues on First Street.

Last week was an exciting one for Apricot Annie, what with last Monday, followed by a startling (sans pyrotechnics, thank goodness) on Thursday.

The work to revamp First Street goes on, and Annie is still hard at work updating us on what's happening with construction.

Each week, Annie's Update, more prosaically named "First Street Construction Update," lands in email boxes all over town. This service began when First Street construction ramped up two months ago. Each week Patch provides an abridged version of the update.

Besides laying the asphalt that allowed the city to reopen Main Street, other tasks last week included continued work on the new traffic controller next to Foothill, installing traffic loops, or sensors, for the intersection signal lights, installing ADA ramps to intersection crosswalks, digging the footing and installing rebar for the first stone monument foundation, and installing first irrigation lines for new landscape areas.
