Police Calls: LAPD Patrol Car Smash-up, Tow

A little of this and a little of that, was the non-theme of incidents on the Los Altos Police log realeased Monday. And what is it about this little section of south Los Altos that had two car collisions on Aug. 20?

Traffic Collision

7:59 a.m., Foothill Expressway and Arboretum Drive; traffic collision involving a Los Altos Police car and second vehicle, with minor injuries, under investigation by the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.

3:18 p.m., 1100 block of St. Joseph Avenue; accident, hit and run, no injuries

Gas Leaf Blower Complaint

8:16 a.m., 300 block of Second Street; report of a gas leaf blower violation, information only


10:47 a.m., 2310 Homestead Road (Foothill Crossing shopping center); private property tow

Municipal Code

10:58 a.m., 600 Fremont Avenue; municipal code violation, officer responded and vehicle was gone on arrival

Suspicious Package / Vehicle / Person

  • 12:08 p.m., 97 Hillview Avenue (Hillview Community Center); suspicious package, report taken
  • 2:20 p.m., 255 Marich Way; report of a suspicious vehicle, officer responded and assisted
  • 10:38 p.m., El Camino Real and Sherwood Drive, suspicious circumstances, officer responded


2:23 p.m., Almond Avenue and N. Gordon Way; disturbance, officer assisted

4:17 p.m., 1575 Holt Avenue (Grant Park); advise on conditions, officer checked the area, unable to locate

Noisy Animal

6:21 p.m., 1000 block of Fremont Avenue; barking dog, officer responded and it was quiet on arrival and departure

Abandoned Vehicle

8:13 p.m., 1600 block of Christina Drive, abandoned vehicle tagged

Misdemeanor Warrant

12:24 a.m., Aug. 21, N. San Antonio Road and Pine Lane; misdemeanor warrant issued, court date
