GALA CELEBRATES 20 years of Los Altos Community Foundation Service

The Los Altos Community Foundation (LACF) will celebrate 20 years of service and honor its founding members with a community-wide, 1920s-themed Gala at the fabulous Stonebrook Court in Los Altos Hills on Saturday, August 27, from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Bids are $175 per person; table for 10 is $1750 available online at www.losaltoscf.org or by calling 650-949-5908.

Proceeds will support LACF ‘s mission to build community through grants to local programs that address community needs and issues; leadership training; managing philanthropic funds for non-profit organizations, and incubating programs initiated by community members. LACF is a 501(c)(3) organization.

Gala Chair and LACF Director of Development & Marketing Lani Dorff said that the Gala offers a festive evening for a good cause. “I’m thrilled to be working in my community for LACF that for 20 years has done so much good,” Dorff said. “The Gala salutes and supports this go-to organization whose grants, projects and programs meet the local needs of children, teens, seniors and community groups.”

LACF Board Member and Gala Co-Chair Nancy Manning of Sereno Group encouraged guests to embrace the joy of the Jazz Age and come in costume. “Vintage cars and a photo opportunity on the beautiful Stonebrook Court grounds will greet guests as they arrive to celebrate the Roaring ‘20s in style,” Manning said. “You won’t want to miss this event. It’s the cat’s meow!”

Celebrants will enjoy an elegant ‘20s-style dinner on the Stonebrook lawn, music by the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra, casino games that benefit local non-profits and dancing under the stars to the Jazz ConncXion.  A silent auction and live Fund-A- Need program under the gavel of VIP celebrity Auctioneer State Senator Joe Simitian round out the evening’s festivities.

LACF Founder and Executive Director Roy Lave said, “In addition to celebrating the past and honoring the philosophy of John Gardener in how to build a civil society, we want to look to the next 20 years and beyond as we plan to meet the community needs of the future.”
