Step Out for Choice: March in Los Altos to mark Anniversary of Roe vs. Wade
The Annual Pro-Choice March marking the anniversary of
Roe vs. Wade will take place on January 22nd, 2014, from 11:30-1:30
in downtown Los Altos. The march will be preceded by a program featuring
Dr. Sylvia Yen from Mountain View’s Center for Adolescent Health, Dr. Ellen
Shaffer, reproductive health specialist, and Liz Kniss, San Mateo County
supervisor, and will include performance and participation by the Raging
Grannies. The event is sponsored by the Los Altos/Mountain View branch of the
American Association of University Women and by the Santa Clara County
Pro-Choice Community.
Following
the program, participants will march together into downtown Los Altos, going up
State Street , across First Street, and back down Main Street to the Youth
Center. Participants are encouraged to bring signs; some will be
provided by the march organizers. Men and children are encouraged to
participate. A donation of $2 is requested to defray costs.
