This is the first class in the series and must be taken before or consecutively with other classes in the series.

Parents and caretakers of toddlers spend most of their days attempting to keep up with the almost constant motion and energy that marks this exciting stage of development. In this class, adults enjoy a break when they form a circle around the perimeter of the room and bring their calm focused attention to the children. Children play and bring their joyful discoveries and challenges to their parents. A conversation and handcrafts follow observation time. Then every one sings the clean-up song, enjoys a “picnic-style” snack, engages in singing games before saying good-bye for the week. Discussion topics supported by weekly readings from You Are Your Child's First Teacher by Rahima Baldwin include: baby to toddler, rhythms for waking, eating and sleeping, communication and boundaries, and self-renewal.

Monday classes offered at two times:
8:30-10:30 AM

11:00 AM-1:00 PM
