Dr. Nalini Ambady, a Palo Alto mom, and Stanford professor, is in urgent need of a bone marrow transplant as a result of a relapse of her leukemia. Unfortunately, the pool of South Asian donors is relatively small, making the likelihood of finding a match slim.

If you are Asian or South Asian and between 18 and 44, please strongly consider registering to become a possible donor. You could save a life!

The pool of South Asians donors is relatively small making the likelihood of finding a match slim. Over 70% of the Registry are Caucasians, Caucasian patients usually find 5 to 10 matches right away.  On the other hand, less than 7% of the Registry is South Asian and they usually have 0 matches.

10 minutes is all it takes -- Just a consent form and a cheek swab. You must be age 18 to 44. More details here.

Can't make it to this event, but want to help? go online to http://join.bethematch.org/MatchNalini (promo code "nalini")

Thank you!
