Aurobora Grand Opening at First Friday, Feb 1st 2013!

Please join Founding Director, Michael Liener and Gallery Director, Jordan Felling for Aurobora’s Inaugural First Friday-- Opening night celebration February 1st, 2013, from 5 – 8pm at 359 State Street in downtown Los Altos.

Aurobora (pronounced oh-ROH-boh-rah) is an invitational fine art studio that publishes unique works by artists of regional, national and international reputations and exhibits regularly changing shows of works created by artists during residencies.  After twenty years of inviting artists to create monotypes and other unique works on paper in its San Francisco studio, Aurobora is changing things up this year as it enters its third decade.

Following its own motto—“without experimentation, there is no discovery; and without discovery there is no re-generation”—Aurobora launches a new traveling series of gallery projects introducing its extensive art archive to select communities.

First stop on the tour is in downtown Los Altos, California at 359 State Street open now through March 2013. Aurobora’s official opening party will coincide with downtown Los Altos’ February First Friday, a festive monthly community-building event. “This is a wonderful way for Aurobora to engage and be part of a local community,” says Felling. “This adventure will allow new clients and interested individuals an opportunity to view contemporary art and begin a dialogue.” In the process, Aurobora hopes to reconfigure what locals expect from their own community.
