Rain, Rain Go Away

We're way past the April-showers-May-bring-flowers" phase. June is here ... and tennis courts are wet from Fremont Hills Country Club to Marymeade Park.

It's June 1. Do you know where your summer is?

The tennis courts are wet at Marymeade Park and you're still packing the "just-in-case" umbrella in the car.

Although the calendar says summer doesn't officially start for three weeks, we've gotten spoiled. We expect that if Memorial Day isn't blazing shorts-and-T-shirt weather, June is.

And yet, Wednesday saw showers, and predictions even had hail forecast in some locations, as the wind and dark clouds exchanged places from the sunshine. Temperatures are running below normal, in the mid-60s.

 National Weather Service metereologist Steve Anderson said Thursday will be cloudy.

And the weekend? Saturday: Rain. Not just showers? 

"Rain," Anderson said. "A quarter to a half inch. Full-on rain."
