Mountain Lion Sighting Triggers Emergency Alert in Los Altos Hills

Fish and Game wardens investigated Midpeninsula Regional Park District land after big cat was spotted over two days.

The Mercury News reported that the town of Los Altos Hills activated its emergency alert system last weekend over the spotting of a mountain lion in the .

According to the town and the sheriff's office, an adult mountain lion was spotted both Saturday and Sunday in the general area of the Rhus Ridge Road parking lot and the Windmill Pasture. The Mercury quoted Charles Knowles, executive director of the Wildlife Conservation Network, about both incidents. Knowles also said there was an unconfirmed report of a mountain lion cub spotted Sunday near Hidden Villa.
