1. LOS ALTOS FALL FESTIVAL

2. "FIRST SATURDAY" BIKE RIDE

Where/When: Meet at corner of Main and Second streets, Los Altos; Saturday 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Why go: Join GreenTown Los Altos in a casual bike ride for all ages on Saturday afternoon downtown! Explore hidden passageways to shopping districts and cruise through the beautiful parks of Los Altos with your children and friends.

3. JOY OF CHARCUTERIE: BACON

Where/When: Hidden Villa 26870 Moody Rd., Los Altos Hills; Saturday 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Why go: Learn about the delicious history and making of bacon at the educational Hidden Villa farm! The workshop will teach "the benefits of using organic and locally sourced meats and the difference between mass-produced store bought bacon and handcrafted, artisan bacon."

4. PALO ALTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

Where/When: Different locations, Palo Alto, Thursday through Sunday

Why go: Check out new forms of storytelling in film and media, including 20 features, 25 shorts and 30 talks, panels and workshops. Check out the full schedule here.
