Former MVLA Staffer Accused of Killing Dog with Golf Club

Riverside County DA says will charge Larry Edward Jaurequi, former special education director, with animal cruelty.

A former special education director at Mountain View-Los Altos Union High School District is facing felony animal cruelty charges in Riverside County, according to an article in the Press-Enterprise.

“Who in their right mind would hit a little 6-pound dog?” asked owner Barbara Hitchman, whose 8-year-old dog, Lily, was killed Jan. 26. “I want him put in a lunatic asylum."

Witnesses told the authorities that they saw Larry Edward Jarequi come out of his garage and into the street with a golf club and tee off on the tiny Chihuahua that had gotten loose from Hitchman's home.
