Are You A Match For This Boy?

A Peninsula family is desperately seeking a Chinese-Caucasian donor for their 4-year-old son, who was recently diagnosed with severe Aplastic anemia.

Are you, or someone you know, of Chinese and Caucasian parentage?

Four-year-old Kyle Crawford is, and he was diagnosed with aplastic anemia at Stanford's Lucille Packard Children's Hospital last week, NBC Bay Area has reported. The teachers at his preschool are organizing testing days for members of the public to come to find out if they might be a bone marrow match.

Aplastic anemia is a condition that occurs when your body stops producing enough new blood cells.

His teachers at Serendipity Preschool in San Mateo contacted NBC Bay Area to spread the word to help find a match. The Asian American Donor Project has set up a page for Kyle to help get out the word and explain the bone marrow donation process.

So far two testing days have been set up in January.
