VIDEO: In Los Altos, Where Apple Computer Was Born, Shock, Sadness at Steve Job's Resignation

At a Chamber of Commerce mixer, members took in the news, expressed a little hometown pride and wished Jobs well.

The Los Altos Chamber of Commerce exudes Main Street with its monthly after-hours mixers and business-card prize drawings. 

Insurance agents, hoteliers, boutique owners, martial arts teachers and optometrists gathered at the Residence Inn by Marriott Wednesday, the same afternoon that Apple CEO Steve Jobs resigned. For the most part, they don't work in high tech, but like the rest of Silicon Valley, use the products Apple makes, every day.

Some members hadn't yet even heard of Jobs' stepping down, but gathered their thoughts to talk about their reactions.
