'Pop-Up Park' Gives Stride & Ride Event Oomph

A picnic basket wouldn't have been out of place at Stride & Ride Los Altos, where they rolled out a grass carpet for the new health & fitness festival.

 

You've heard of , like the non-profit one at 170 State Street. And downtown Los Altos had a in the plaza last year. 

Saturday, downtown Los Altos got a pop-up park to create an inviting atmosphere during the , a health-and-fitness-palooza held in Plaza Central and the parking lot adjacent to Safeway on First Street.

The mobile skate park, with quarter-pipes and speed humps was eye-catching enough, but what was really the head-turner was the instant lawn behind the group of shops, the Daily Method, Peet's Coffee and 359 State Street. With bright orange and white shade tents and stylish patio furniture, the instant park atttracted those who wanted to just rest their feet and watch the Dailey Method's pilates class going on, or check out the demonstration from United Schools of Self Defense.
