Rose Rambo, Vice President of the Assistance League, says every year there’s a favorite costume theme, “One year it’s pirates, another year the ‘20s. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Downton Abbey this year—but every year I’m amazed.”

The volunteers launder every costume when it’s returned, repair and alter garments, and clean the hats.

The store also has a retail section, selling wigs, hats, masks, makeup and more.

Many of the high-quality costumes have been donated to the store by theater groups. If you have Halloween costumes that are hanging unused in the closet—they take donations.

The Costume Bank is located at 169 State St., Los Altos, 94022. Hours are Wednesday – Friday, noon – 5; and Saturday, 11-5. Phone them at 650-941-2610.
