Get Out, Los Altos: Business Expo, New Wedding Designs and a 'Fur Ball'

The mix is wide this week: Thursday's Chamber of Commerce Business Expo and a health seminar, Friday's violin concert to raise funds for Japan, Saturday's only formal gala for pets, and a look at the wedding fashion scene on Sunday.

Why Go:  See what the businesses in your community have to offer.  Businesses  have signed up to showcase products and services. And for all, it's a great opportunity to network and show community support.

Where/When: , 255 2nd St. Thursday, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. 

Why Go:  Do you have know what Bio-Identical Hormone therapy is? Specialists Jenny Partridge, Pharm D. and Christine Stephanos, R. Ph. will be speaking about Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement. Where/When:  99 Churchill Ave, Woodside (Woodside High School Performing Arts Center) Friday, 8 p.m.

Why Go: Anne Akiko Meyers is one of the world's top concert violinists and she will be giving a special performance to raise money for Japan disaster relief efforts. Meyers, who was performing and visiting family in Japan during the earthquake and tsunami, will play both Japanese and Western classical pieces with pianist Wendy Chen. Hear some great music and support the Japan relief effort.

Where/When: 4701 Great America Pkwy, Santa Clara, Saturday, 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. 

Why Go:  If you can afford it, this is the way to show your love for your pet and for pets and animals in general. This year's theme is the “Carnival of the Animals” for this black-tie event (but just for the people.) The Fur Ball is probably the only formal event where pets are welcome.  It's an all-out gala event with the emphasis on the humane in our relationship with animals.

Pricing: $250 per person.

Where/When 334 State St. (Ayurvastram Boutique)  Sunday, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Why Go: RockChiq and Ayurvastram Boutique presented a joint Bridal and Couture Fashion Show event. See the fashions, enjoy the music, sample the food and in general have a good time. This will be an exclusive showing of the spring and summer collection the two boutiques have to offer.
