GreenTown Los Altos Wine & Cheese

Please join GreenTown Los Altos for a wine and cheese reception on Sunday, September 18 from 4 – 6 pm at a private, sustainably designed, energy- and water-efficient home in Los Altos Hills.

The home is "carbon negative," with rooftop photovoltaics that produce more energy than the home requires — enough even for a few electric cars.  Good passive solar design, to maximize the sun's heat in winter and minimize it in summer, and straw bale construction, enable the home to be heated and cooled very efficiently.  A "green roof," adds habitat for wildlife, manages stormwater runoff, and helps insulate the home. And an eco-lawn requires no watering.
