Sunday is Los Altos Community Day

Free admission to the Computer History Museum is just the beginning for all residents of Los Altos and Los Altos Hills.

The Computer History Museum opens its doors to all Los Altos and Los Altos Hills residents to enjoy a free day at the museum on Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

There are advantages to going as part of a community. There will be a group photo and a commemorative Los Altos Day pin. Memberships can be purchased at a discount, and geeky shopping comes with a 15 percent discount, as well.

Check out the new, state of the art large-scale exhibition, "Revolution: The First 2000 Years of Computing."

"Revolution," according to the museum, explores "the spectacular history of computing, from the mysterious ancient devices to technologies of the future."

In addition the museum's 19 galleries have over 1,000 unique artifacts, plus multi-media displays. As the museum likes to say, the displays give the inside stories, development drama, and breakthroughs "of the gadgets, gurus and companies you love, or love to hate!"
