Relay For Life is June 9-10

'The Great Race For a Cure' takes place at Egan Jr. High School to benefit the American Cancer Society.

 

 

Celebrity bartenders at Maltby's May 23rd, comprised one of several fundraising events leading up to Relay For Life of Los Altos/Hillsevent at Egan Junior High School on June 9-10.

The theme for this year’s 24-hour event – scheduled 10 a.m. June 9 to 10 a.m. June 10 is “The Great Race to a Cure.”

The opening ceremony is scheduled 10 a.m. June 9 on the Egan track. Following remarks from Chairman Ray Skitt and recognition of sponsors, the first lap will celebrate local cancer survivors. The Relay will officially begin when the teams and participants hit the track to walk for 24 consecutive hours.

With a racing theme, Los Altos resident Bob Mabe and fellow classic-car enthusiasts will display their vintage cars on the afternoon of June 9. Teams are encouraged to decorate their campsites as pit stops with racing gear and make cardboard race cars.
