WHY GO: The Silicon Valley Watershed Summit will plan the protection and enhancement of the waters and surrounding lands — the watersheds — of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. The summit will build sustainability by identifying opportunities for on-going collaboration among agencies, organizations, businesses and individuals that takes advantage of our region's considerable human and biological resources.

WHAT: Train Days at the Los Altos History Museum

WHERE / WHEN: Los Altos History Museum 51 S. San Antonio Road / Sept. 22 - 23, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  

Elaborate track layouts, intricate scenery and scaled renditions of engines and whimsical theme cars, complete with steam, lights and sound, will speed along rails for train enthusiasts of all ages. A station featuring train-themed activities for young children will be available throughout the two-day event. 

PRICE: $10 per family or $5 per individual, free for museum members

Los Altos Corvette Spectacular

WHAT / WHEN: Main Street, Los Altos / Sept. 23, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., 

WHY GO: Mingle in fast company. Organized by Santa Clara Corvettes, this event is billed as one of the largest Corvette shows on the West Coast. Approximately 200 new, classic and racing Corvettes are expected to line both sides of Main Street. In addition to the Corvettes, the show will feature a live band, raffle prizes and vendors.
