ViewFinder: Building a set for the musical, "Shout"

Ron Gasparinetti builds the set for the Bus Barn production of "Shout: The Mod Musical", which opens Sept. 1.

San Francisco Bay Area scenic designer Ron Gasparinetti has been building theatrical sets for 30 years now, including for the Bus Barn Theater in Los Altos.

The set for "Shout: The Mod Musical" is Austin Powers-esque; the stage features a shag rug and the British flag.

Gasparinetti says he designs the sets, and after another company builds them, he "makes them pretty".
